声音的要求

The entrance audition demonstrates the student's ability to sing in tune, 节奏正确, 良好的音质.  For Music Education, Music Therapy, 和 BA applicants, please choose 两个 以下列表中的片段.  For Vocal Performance applicants, please choose 三个:

  1. 一个16th-18th century Italian song or aria, in Italian

Audition pieces should include 三个 contrasting major works from different stylistic periods that best represent the applicant’s technical 和 artistic strengths. 例如, this may include a memorized solo from the st和ard repertoire 和 两个 etudes that utilize different techniques (i.e. 琶音,音阶,休止符旋律). Be prepared to perform from memory any 两个 和 三个 octave major 和 melodic minor scales (Segovia edition) with rest or free stroke (i-m; m-a). 注:电吉他可以  用来试镜. 吉他手 必须 叫吉他兼职教授,博士. Repertoire should reflect your current playing level, realizing that may be different for each area of percussion. Players should prepare the following material:

One orchestral/concert snare drum solo (i.e. Mitchell Peters, Anthony Cirone) 和 one rudimentary snare drum solo (i.e. 约翰·普拉特、查理·威尔考克森).

球棍:

One 两个-mallet marimba solo of the players choice. Players are encouraged to demonstrate four-mallet technique in the form of an etude or solo (optional).

音乐治疗申请人, you will be asked to complete an interview 和 several interactive musical experiences in addition to the normal audition requirements (see instrument of choice above). Neither of these additional components require advanced preparation for the applicant.
